The essentials

Three different stages.

The website, an application and a loan agreement do different jobs. Here is the important distinction.

  1. The website gives information

It explains Fairwood, the loans currently promoted and typical costs.

  2. An application asks us to assess

We look at your circumstances and whether the repayment appears affordable.

  3. Your agreement contains your loan terms

If we make an offer, your agreement shows the actual amount, costs, payments and rights.

Website, application and agreement

What you are looking at.

Who runs the website, what its information means and when a loan agreement begins.

Who runs this website

This website is operated by Fairwood Finance Limited, company number 01407295, whose registered office is 456 Gower Road, Killay, Swansea, SA2 7AL. These terms apply when you use Fairwood's public website.

The Privacy notice explains how Fairwood uses personal information. The Cookie notice explains the technologies used on this website and the choices available to you.

What this website provides

This website gives general information about Fairwood, the loans currently promoted and the way the service works. It is not personalised financial advice, an offer of credit or a credit agreement.

Examples and illustrations help explain typical costs. The Loans and costs page shows the amount borrowed, weekly or monthly repayments, interest, total repayable and representative APR for the examples currently promoted.

Applying is not a loan agreement

Starting or submitting an application asks Fairwood to consider your circumstances and whether the repayment appears affordable. It does not by itself create a loan or mean that Fairwood has agreed to lend.

If Fairwood can offer you a loan, you will receive an individual agreement showing the amount, repayment amount and frequency, number of payments, interest, total repayable and the rights and responsibilities that apply. Read that agreement before deciding whether to accept it.

Access and responsible use

Using Fairwood online.

How we maintain the website and the straightforward rules that help keep it safe for everyone.

Keeping information current

Fairwood takes reasonable care to keep website information clear and up to date. We may correct or update content when products, costs, service areas or the way the website works changes.

A website update does not change an existing loan agreement. Existing customers should use their agreement and direct communications from Fairwood for information about their own loan.

Website access and availability

Fairwood aims to keep the website available and working properly, but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free access. Access may occasionally be restricted for maintenance, security, technical problems or matters outside Fairwood's reasonable control.

If you cannot use the website or need information in another format, the Contact page explains how to speak to Fairwood.

Using the website responsibly

You may use the website for personal, lawful purposes. Information supplied in an application should be accurate and should relate to you unless you are lawfully helping someone and have their permission.

Do not misuse the website, try to gain unauthorised access, interfere with its operation, introduce malicious software, impersonate another person or use website content or data in a way that breaks the law or harms another person.

Content, links and legal protections

Rights and questions.

The protections that apply to you, Fairwood's content and where to go if anything is unclear.

Fairwood's content and branding

The website's design, branding, text and original materials belong to Fairwood or are used with permission. You may view them and save or print a reasonable copy for your own personal, non-commercial use.

Do not change, republish, sell or commercially exploit website materials without the relevant rights holder's permission, except where the law allows it.

Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, including responsibility for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

Subject to those protections, Fairwood is not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, business losses arising from personal use of the website, or a failure caused by something outside Fairwood's reasonable control.

Changes, questions and the law

Fairwood may update these website terms when the website, service or law changes. The current review date and version are shown on this page. Updated website terms do not replace or change an existing customer's loan agreement.

These website terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers may also have mandatory rights in the part of the United Kingdom where they live, and the courts with jurisdiction under consumer law may hear a dispute.

If anything on this page is unclear, contact Fairwood and ask us to explain it. If your question is about a complaint, use Fairwood's complaints process.
