What cookies are, how Fairwood groups them and why one small cookie is always needed to remember your decision.
Cookies are small pieces of information stored by a website in your browser. Similar technologies can also store information or recognise activity without using a traditional cookie.
Fairwood separates these technologies into necessary, analytics, personalisation and advertising categories. Necessary technology supports a function you request. The optional categories remain off unless you choose to allow them.
The public website uses one first-party cookie called fairwood_consent_v1 to remember whether you allowed, rejected or individually selected the optional categories. It also records the consent version and when the choice was made.
This cookie lasts for up to 180 days and is available across the public website. It is classed as necessary because without it the website cannot reliably remember and respect your choice. It is not used to advertise to you or store application information.
What stays off until you choose it
What each optional category does and which technologies this website uses.
If you allow analytics, this website can record limited events such as pages and sections viewed, loan amounts selected, FAQs opened, scroll progress and when someone leaves for the application journey.
These analytics events do not include your name, email address, telephone number, postcode, address, customer number or application number. They are held temporarily in memory and are not sent to an external analytics provider. They are cleared when the page session or website process restarts.
Personalisation can remember optional choices to make a later visit more relevant. This website does not currently use personalisation technology.
Your personalisation choice is saved in your cookie preferences. You can use the website when personalisation is declined.
Advertising technology can measure campaigns or help show relevant marketing on other services by recognising a browser or device. This website does not currently use advertising or remarketing technology.
Allowing the advertising category does not activate advertising technology while none is in use. If this changes, we will update this notice and respect your cookie choices.
Optional website tracking stops when you leave this website to start an application. The secure application journey collects the information needed to consider a loan and has its own privacy and necessary-technology requirements.
Fairwood does not use the public website's optional analytics, personalisation or advertising choices to record the sensitive information entered in the application form.
Your ongoing control
How to withdraw permission, what happens if you remove the consent cookie and when this notice is updated.
Use Cookie preferences on this page or in the website footer to allow, reject or change the optional categories. Withdrawing consent stops future optional use. It does not make earlier consent-based use unlawful.
You can also remove cookies using your browser settings. If the consent cookie is removed or blocked, the website may ask for your choices again because it can no longer remember them.
We keep this notice and the list of technologies up to date when the website changes. The current version and review date are shown on this page.
If we introduce a new optional technology or use information for a new purpose, we will explain the change and ask for your consent where required.
If you have a question about cookies, tracking or your personal information, contact Fairwood or read the Privacy notice.
