The company now known as Fairwood Finance Limited was incorporated on 2 January 1979 as Coinaid Finance Limited. Brian and Maureen Thomas built it as a family business in South Wales.
6 September 1999
Jeff and Susan continued the business
Brian passed the business to his son, Jeff. On 6 September 1999, the company became Fairwood Finance Limited, marking the next chapter for Jeff and his wife, Susan, as they continued the family business together.

Jeff Thomas is Managing Director of Fairwood Finance, continuing the family business established by his father, Brian Thomas. Born and still based in South Wales, Jeff focuses on straightforward, responsible lending for people who may not be well served by mainstream finance—combining clear costs and affordability-led decisions with personal, local support. Under Jeff's leadership, Fairwood remains proudly family-run and committed to treating every customer as an individual.
